Haemin Sunim is a Seon Buddhist teacher, writer and founder of the School of Broken Hearts. He was born on 12th December 1973, in South Korea. He received formal training from Haein monastery. In 2012, he wrote his first book , The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down, which got translated to 35 languages and over four million copies were sold.

In 2016, he wrote his second book, Love for Imperfect Things : How to accept yourself in a world striving for perfection. I know more about this book as I got it as a Christmas gift from my aunt. It is such a nice book, I can read it millions and millions of times. It came in many languages in 2019.
In 2020 Haemin announced that he would be quitting all his public activities and returning to a Zen Buddhism education institution after facing backlash over his secular lifestyle. Although, he is enjoying his personal life very much.
“What makes music beautiful is the distance between one note and another. What makes speech eloquent is the appropriate pause between words. From time to time we should take a breath and notice the silence between sounds.”
